HERE’S WHAT’S UP
Saturday, September 20 - Mercy Street is turning 28, and we’re celebrating the best way we know how: through worship, good food, and meaningful conversations. This year, we’re partnering with Gastrochurch, whose mission is simple - gathering people around the table for conversation about spiritual things over really good food.
Dinner will be catered by Local Foods (it’s FREE), and together we’ll “taste and see” that grace is good. Everyone is welcome at the table. Come celebrate, share a meal, and join the conversation.
Dinner & Worship will be from 5:30pm-7:00pm
*Nursery care available, Children & Tweens will be in the gym
Darkness and Light is a two-part retreat designed to gently guide you through the layered journey of grief, whether you’re mourning the loss of a loved one or carrying the quiet, everyday grief that comes with being human.
Through storytelling, reflection, and interactive experiences, this retreat invites you to make space for your sorrow and your healing. Guest speakers Michelle Russell, Sasha Coles, and Amanda Craig, will lead us with wisdom and compassion, helping us name what’s been lost while also discovering what light might still remain.
You don’t have to walk this road alone. Join us for this meaningful pilgrimage through loss, guided by grace and grounded in community.
Summer Book Club:
Do you love to read? Once a month a small group of Mercy Streeters meet on a Thursday night to discuss the latest book and check in with one another. It is as much about connecting with others as it is about sharing our insights from the latest book. We read books across all genres. This summer join us one of the months or for all. We meet at Corner Bakery Cafe at 7pm. See dates below with the book of that Month! email Pastor Maggie - Maggie@MercyStreet.org

We have a NEW serving opportunity!!!
St. Joseph Clubhouse provides lunch, and we provide either a Bible study with music or an Arts & Crafts project. You’ll share lunch with the Members and be treated to fun conversation, followed by even more lively discussion during our program. There are usually about 25 Members and several Clubhouse Staff.
St. Joseph Clubhouse, a part of Magnificat Houses, is a free, community-based mental health recovery program in Midtown Houston. They provide a safe and stigma-free environment where members living with persistent mental health conditions can access recovery services, peer support, and meaningful work opportunities.
Members take part in daily operations like culinary arts, administrative support, horticulture, and communications, building valuable job readiness skills and self-confidence. Their program also includes social events, meals, and WRAP (Wellness Recovery Action Plan) programming, all designed to promote structure, purpose, and connection.

Prophets, Refugees, and Rebuilders
In this study we will do an overview of a part of the Bible that gets tricky for many of us. We can remember the stories of Adam and Eve and Noah and Moses, but what do guys like Amos, Habakkuk, Haggai, and Ezra have to do with the story of Jesus and why do they matter for us today? This part of the Bible has a lot to teach us about pursuing wisdom, enduring hard seasons, holding on to hope, and rebuilding after disaster. We hope you will join us!
Join us for a midweek break! Enjoy dinner and discussion while the kids have a fun program of their own. Topics alternate between book studies and Bible Studies. You can jump in at any time. There will always be small group discussions and time to develop friendships. This is a great way to plug into the community. We typically take a break from meeting on holiday weeks, other than that, we will be there. Hope you can join us! (Nursery care available)

Whether you're brand new to playing or you've played all your life, there will be a game for you and a place at the table. This is aimed at adults, but kids six and up are welcome with a parent, and there will be games for them to play there too. :)
There will be pizza, drinks, and snacks with a suggested small donation to help cover the cost of those things.
